After nearly a decade working for a leading UK maltster, supplying both micro and macro brewers across the country, Steve developed a deep appreciation for the ingredients and craftsmanship behind truly great beer. That experience laid the groundwork for what would become Bright Oak Brewery, a brewery built on quality, character, and connection.

What began as a garage-based homebrew setup, shared with friends, family, and the local homebrew club, soon outgrew its humble beginnings. With the support of his ever-patient wife and a growing ambition to bring something special to the Black Country beer scene, Steve took the leap in 2024 and Bright Oak Brewery was born.

Now operating from a 6hl brewhouse in the heart of Cradley Heath, we focus on producing small-batch, cask-conditioned ales that celebrate the rich brewing heritage of the West Midlands. Our beers are brewed with care, using the finest malts and hops, and are designed to be enjoyed in good company, preferably in a proper pub.
